Himalayas, close to Ramnagar in the state of Uttaranchal.
About the Park
Established in the year 1936, Corbett National Park holds the
distinction of being the first National Park of the country. Named after
Jim Corbett, famous conservationist, photographer and writer, the park
is a delight for the lovers of nature and wildlife. The Corbett National
Park was also the first park to be brought under the Project Tiger. The
park was earlier known as the Hailey National Park.

Day - 01 : Delhi-Corbett National Park
Today after breakfast we drive to Corbett National Park. After lunch,
drive onward for Dhangarhi gate for entry to Dhikala tourism zone. Visit
the Interpretation Centre. Jeep safari through the stately dense Sal
jungle and the wildlife adventure of Corbett begins. Jeep Safari by the
lower jungle track along the Ramganga River accompanied by an expert
guide. A great opportunity for viewing wildlife, especially the tiger in
its natural habitat. Cross the river at Gethia Rao Bridge for the Kanda
Range, where Jim Corbett shot the famous Kanda man-eater. Arrive at the
main tourist complex, Dhikala - check in. Relax in the serene, lingering
quietness of the park and capture the panoramic expanse on your camera.
Visit one of the best wildlife libraries of India. Dinner and overnight
stay.
Day - 02 : Corbett National Park
Morning elephant safari through the open chaurs (grasslands) and dense
forests by an unconventional route. This is the best mode of transport
for wildlife viewing. Return at 0900 hr. for breakfast and then again
drive by jeep to the scenic lake area - wait a while for a chance to
sight the marsh crocodile basking in the sun. Visit the Jhirnajhali area
for viewing the famous gavial - fish eating crocodile. Lunch and rest.
Option of spending the afternoon on a watchtower overlooking a water
hole. Jeep safari on a track along the periphery of the core area. An
exciting drive through the unforgettable, sylvan beauty of the
Khinanauli range offers wildlife viewing in plenty and a chance sighting
of the elusive tiger. Return to the to tourist complex. Film show on
wildlife. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day - 03 : Corbett National Park
Drive to Tiger Camp after breakfast. The drive is a safari in itself.
Arrive Tiger Camp for lunch. Afternoon jeep safari to Bijrani for tiger
tracking. Overnight stay in the resort.
Day - 04 : Corbett National Park-Delhi/Agra/ Pangot
Drive to Pangot in the morning to see the snow clad peaks of central
Himalayas. Spend the day birding / trekking at Pangot or visit Nainital.
One can have lunch at Jungle Lore Birding Lodge. Drive back to Delhi OR
to onward destination OR drive to Lal Kuan station to connect overnight
train to Agra / Mathura. Or one can connect an overnight train to Delhi
from Kathgodam or we drive by own transport.
